No. Magici only asks Google for the drive.file permission, which covers the files and folders Magici creates. It can't see, open or change anything else in your Drive.

So your photos, videos and voice recordings stay in storage you own. They go from your device straight to a Magici folder in your Drive and are never stored on our servers.

It stays in your Drive. Every moment has a readable copy (entry.json) next to its photos and videos in the Magici folder.

Yes, it counts towards your Google storage. To keep it small, photos are saved at up to 2048 pixels and videos at 1080p, unless you choose to keep a video's original.

Yes. Signing out revokes it, or you can remove Magici at myaccount.google.com/connections at any time.

Only you. The words you write are encrypted on our server with a key unique to you. Nobody at Magici reads your entries, unless you ask us to for support or the law requires it.

No. Your text is encrypted (AES-256) with your own key, which is itself encrypted by a key kept outside the database, so a copy of the database alone can't be read. Our server unlocks your text when you use Magici, so it can load and search your journal quickly.

Your encrypted entries and account are in Sydney, Australia (Google Cloud and Neon). Your photos, videos and recordings are in your own Google Drive.

Your account and every entry are removed straight away, and your key is destroyed so no backup can be read. You choose whether the Magici folder in your Drive goes to the trash or stays.
